New Teen Services Librarian at Troy Library Looks to Expand Teen Programs, Introduces Teen Advisory Group

TROY - Janine Sadler is the first Teen Services Librarian at Troy-Miami County Public Library, and she is introducing some new teen programs and a Teen Advisory Board.

   Teens in grades six through twelve are encouraged to fill out the Teen Advisory Group application found HERE. The Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is for students in 6th-12th grades who would like to help guide and plan teen programming at TMCPL. Submissions must be received by July 15, 2022. Teens can drop them off at the library or send in the mail Attn: Janine, Troy-Miami County Public Library, 419 W. Main St., Troy, OH 45373. TAG will meet on the third Monday of every month beginning Monday, August 15 at 4 p.m.

   The first program Janine has introduced is the Oreo Taste Test taking place on April 26. Teens in 6th-8th grade can come at 4 p.m. and teens in 9th-12th grades can come at 4:30 p.m. to see if they can guess the flavors of Oreos they’re tasting. Registration is required and can be done HERE.


  Then, on April 28 from 4-5 p.m., teens in 9th grade and up, and adults, can come to Let’s Volunteer and learn about local non-profits and the volunteer opportunities they have. Registration is not required to attend.
