Miami Valley Veterans Museum Announces Formation of Roll Playing War Game Club
TROY - The Miami Valley Veterans Museum is introducing its new wargaming club, Timeline Warriors. The Timeline Warriors allow gamers to learn about history through an exciting and challenging hobby of board game-based wargames.
Introducing this club will be a War Game exhibition at the museum (2245 S. County Road 25A in Troy) on Sunday, Jan. 30 from 2-5 p.m. Visitors to the museum will be able to see, experience and learn about the exciting hobby of wargames. There will be displays, examples of various types of games, including miniatures and board games,
and players to answer questions. Visitors will likely play a turn or two as well.
The games played by the group will span all of history: From Ancient Rome to the starships of the far future. Experience the challenges and drama of historic battles like Hastings, Gettysburg, and Battle of the Bulge and future battles like Wolf359 and Mimbari Earth War.
Players can command a single soldier, or an entire fleet of Roman Triremes battling Persia. A trireme was an ancient vessel and a type of galley that was used by the ancient maritime civilizations of the Mediterranean Sea.
Classes and workshops are available to the newcomer and novice to the exciting hobby of wargaming at the museum.
