Dinah Wolfe
Jul. 10, 1942 ~ May 22, 2023

Dinah Wolfe, a remarkable woman whose life was marked by dedication, love, and a profound impact on her community, passed away on May 22, 2023. Born on July 10, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, she spent her formative years in Pleasant Hill and attended Newton High School before pursuing higher education at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

Dinah's passion for education led her to become a teacher, and she shared her knowledge and love for learning with students in Dayton and Cincinnati. In 1966, she married her soulmate, Daniel R. Wolfe, and together they built a vibrant home and community in Tipp City, Ohio, where they welcomed the arrival of their three children: Jennifer, Daniel Jr., and Elizabeth. Dinah and Dan were actively involved in shaping the growth and prosperity of Tipp City, with Dinah serving as the President of Tipp City Jayceettes. Her tireless efforts included founding the Safety Town, spearheading the construction of a large community swimming pool and swim team, and showcasing her acting talent with the Tippecanoe Players, where she played key roles in productions like Fiddler on the Roof and South Pacific.

Beyond her professional endeavors and role as a mother, Dinah found joy in various activities. She was an avid tennis and golf player, a skilled bridge enthusiast, and relished the beauty of the outdoors through gardening and travel. In 1984, the Wolfe family relocated to Brownsville, Texas, following Dan's job at General Motors. Dinah continued her career in education within the Brownsville school system and embraced her faith as an active member of the United Methodist Church.

Dinah and Dan’s spirit of adventure and cultural immersion led her family to Lisbon, Portugal, from 1989 to 1992.

She fearlessly embraced the local culture, mastering the art of driving in Europe and immersing herself in Arraiolos tapestry rug artistry, golf, and participation in the International Women’s Group. Dinah's zest for life and travel took her and Dan to various corners of the world, exploring destinations such as Morocco, Turkey, Scandinavia, China, Russia, Alaska, and many European countries.

After their European adventure, Dinah and Dan returned to Tipp City, Ohio, in 1992 before settling in Plano, Texas, in 1999 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In Plano, Dinah co-founded the Newcomer Friends of Greater Plano, a thriving organization that fostered community, philanthropy, and wellness. She and Dan were active members of the Christ United Methodist Church of Plano, TX and shared their love and wisdom with their cherished grandchildren: Jakob, Adam, Tanner, Danny, Ashley, and Diana.

Dinah Wolfe lived a life defined by service, contribution, and boundless love. Her legacy will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her. Dinah leaves behind a family who adored her and a community that benefited greatly from her passion and dedication. Her memory will be cherished, and her impact will continue to shape lives for generations to come.
