Richard C. Beard II, 54, of Minster, passed away unexpectedly at 12:08 p.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney. He was born December 12, 1966 in Piqua to the late Richard C. “Dick” Beard, and Shirley (Barhorst) Beard of Minster.


Other survivors include three sons, Richie (Maggie) Beard of Dublin, Tyler (Jennifer) Beard of Fletcher, Nicholas Beard of Piqua; five grandchildren; three siblings, Richelle Beard of Batavia, Danielle (Michael) Mohrman of Houston, Bruce (Tonya) Beard of Plain City; his nieces and nephew, Taylor, Zachary and Sydney Beard; and his significant other, Julie Terral of Celina.

Rich was a graduate of Miami East High School Class of 1985, and went on to receive his BS in Education at the University of Cincinnati. Rich retired from Nationwide Insurance as an agent after 24 years of service. He taught at Hamilton City Schools, and was a basketball coach at Miami East and AAU basketball for many years. Rich was an avid Ohio State and Dallas Cowboys fan, he enjoyed going fishing at Lake Loramie and spending time with his family and friends. He always had a great sense of humor, a very generous and

genuine heart, and a story to tell with his boisterous laugh to follow. Rich was quick to call and wish a happy birthday or remembering a special occasion. He will truly be missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love him.


A service to honor his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Reverend David Chivington officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rich's memory may be made to Miami East High School's Basketball Program, 3925 N. St. Rt. 589, Casstown, OH 45312.
