Local Program Receives National Recognition

TROY - On August 16, the OSU Extension Miami County office was recognized as the National Winner in the Search for Excellence in 4-H and Youth Programming for their annual program, Miami County Junior Chefs. The award was received at the National Association of County Agricultural Agents Annual Meeting and Professional Development Conference in Des Moines, Iowa.

   The award recognizes a NACAA member who has developed and carried out an outstanding extension youth development program for 4-H and other youth. Miami County Junior Chefs is an annual summer program offered by OSU Extension Miami County in which youth ages 6 to 12 learn and develop cooking skills through unique hands-on experiences. Since Jr Chef began in 2018 the Extension office has offered Jr Chef to more than 600 local youth.
