Miami Conservancy District Close Floodgates
Information and images from the Miami Conservancy District
Miami Conservancy District staff members spent part of the weekend monitoring conditions and/or closing floodgates on city storm sewers in six Great Miami River cities, including Troy, pictured here. All five of MCD's dams were holding back floodwater on Sunday, and Englewood Dam continues to do so (Monday morning).

The MCD dams and levees all worked together as designed last week. Rivers have now dropped below the level when the dams store floodwater, except for the Stillwater River. It's still backing up in its preserved floodplain upstream of Englewood Dam. In Hamilton, MCD staff closed one storm sewer floodgate as the Great Miami River rose there. The gate will remain closed until the river drops about another foot.
