Mystery Night Hike at Maple Ridge Reserve in Covington | Oct. 25

COVINGTON - The Miami County Park District will host a Mystery Night Hike from 7-9 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Maple Ridge Reserve, 10430 State Route 185 north of Covington. Participants will travel unguided through the darkness on this exciting adventure to find the animals behind a series of mysteries in the area around Maple Ridge. Ghost Walks in Downtown Greenville | Oct. 25-26

Halloween Happening featuring VIP Jack-O’-Lantern Hike in Troy | Oct. 26

TROY - The Miami County Park District will host its Halloween Happening, which includes a Jack-O’-Lantern Hike and refreshments sponsored by the Park District VIPs and Trunk or Treat, from 8-10 p.m. on Oct. 26 at Lost Creek Reserve, 2385 E. St. Rt. 41 east of Troy.  Guests of all ages are invited to drop by and experience a crisp, fall night hike around the historic Knoop homestead aglow with jack-o’-lanterns.  Be sure to stop by the barn at the end of the hike to enjoy a fall treat compliments of the VIPs.  The corn maze will also be open from 4 to 9 p.m.  Make sure to bring a flashlight.  Drop-ins are welcome. 

Brukner Haunted Woods |Oct. 26-27

TROY – This kid-friendly event at Brukner Nature Center is filled with guided walks along a luminary lit trail, live animals and costumed characters at six stations along the trail, free face painting, crafts and games, cider and cookies, campfires and storytelling and more. It will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26-27. Tickets for this event are available on a first-come-first-served basis on the night of the event, handed out in the order that guests arrive at the entrance gate. Gates open at 6 p.m. each night with the first group tour starting at 6:30 p.m. and every five minutes after that. The cost is $7 per person and free for children 2 and under. (Cash and check only.)

Hometown Halloween in Troy | Oct. 26

TROY – This event takes place from 9 a.m. to noon in downtown Troy and includes a costume contest, parade, live music and trick or treat at local merchant shops. The contest will be at 9 a.m. in the Hobart Government Center parking lot at 510 W. Water St. and trick or treat will be at 10 a.m. The event is free.

Boo Bash at Hayner in Troy – Storybook Edition |

TROY - A free family event that includes story times, crafts, refreshments and games. Children, and children at heart, are encouraged to dress as their favorite storybook character. Trunk or Treat at Covington Community Park | Oct. 27

COVINGTON - Fields of Grace Worship Center will host its 8th Annual Trunk or Treat from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Covington Community Park. The event is free and open to all communities and also features a trunk decorating contest. Wear your costume and stroll among the decorated vehicles and trucks, collect candy and goodies, ride the train, enjoy face painting, and pick up a free hot dog. TIPP CITY – This Harry Potter-themed Trick or Treat will take place on Oct. 26 in downtown Tipp City.

Trick-or-Treat and Eat in Troy | Oct. 26
TROY – St. John’s United Church of Christ will host a Trick-or-Treat and Eat from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at 130 S. Walnut St. in Troy. Along with passing out candy, the church will be serving a free meal in the Fellowship Hall. It includes hot dogs, chili, chips, dessert and beverages. (Donations are appreciated. Use the Canal Street door). All are welcome.

Ghost Walk at the Cemetery in Greenville | Oct. 27  Oct. 31
GREENVILLE - Visit the final resting places of some of Greenville's most renowned and notorious citizens during this Ghost Walk at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 and Oct. 31. The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Sidney | Oct. 26

SIDNEY - The Historic Sidney Theatre will host this event on Oct. 26. Doors open at 11:30 p.m. and the film will start at midnight. Beverages and snacks will be available. Come dressed as your favorite character and be entered into a costume contest. Tickets are $10.


Trunk or Treat in Vandalia | Oct. 27
VANDALIA – The St. John’s Lutheran Church’s will host a Trunk or Treat event from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27 at 122 W. National Road in Vandalia. Come inside for free chili and hot dog dinners.


Trick or Treat at the Miami Valley Centre Mall | Oct. 29
PIQUA – Children 12 and under can enjoy indoor trick or treat at the Miami Valley Centre Mall from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The line begins near the Dunham’s Sports store. Additionally, there will be face painting, caricatures and balloon sculpting from 5:30-8 p.m. and a magic show with Joe Magic from 7-7:45 p.m. Admission is free.

Piqua Manor Trick or Treat | Oct. 31
PIQUA – Piqua Manor will host its annual Trick or Treat from 6-7 p.m. on Oct. 31. The public is invited to this free event. Piqua Manor is located at 1840 W. High St. and can be reached at (937) 773-0040.


Trunk or Treat in Piqua | Oct. 31
PIQUA – During the same hours as Beggar’s Night, there will be a trunk or treat event from 6-8 p.m. at Pitsenbarger Park, 698 McKinley Ave. in Piqua. Guests are encouraged to decorate their cars and pass out candy. There are 80 parking spaces.

Idle-Hour Ranch Corn Maze & Flashlight Night Maze Challenge | through Oct. 27
TROY – Idle-Hour Ranch is open from noon to 6 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through October at 4845 Fenner Rd. in Troy. Along with a corn maze, visitors can see more than 150 different animals, including kangaroos, camels, a sloth, llamas, miniature horses and more. For an additional fee, take camel and pony rides, feed the animals, or try gemstone mining or Sloth Encounters. Along with daytime hours, the corn maze remains open late on Friday and Saturday nights, where the farm also offers hayrides, a bonfire, movies on the barn, a pumpkin patch, S’mores, and the Flashlight Night Maze Challenge. Corn Maze at Lost Creek Reserve | Oct. 12-13 & Oct. 26

TROY - Miami County Park District’s Corn Maze will be open to the public as part of the Fall Farm Fest on Oct. 12 from 12-7 p.m. and Oct. 13 from noon to 5 p.m., as well as 8-9 p.m. on Oct. 26 at Lost Creek Reserve, 2385 E. St. Rt. 41 east of Troy.  Experience the adventure as you navigate the twists and turns of this six-acre corn maze sponsored by the Miami County Farm Bureau. Admission is $5 donation for adults ages 12 and up, $3 fee for children ages 5 to 11 and kids under 4 are free.
