Covington Police Remember Officer Killed in Line of Duty 105 Years Ago

COVINGTON - 105 years ago (on Jan. 12), Covington's Village Marshal Harvey Hake was killed in the line of duty for the Citizens of Covington.

   In the overnight of January 11 into January 12, 1917, Hake responded to a Domestic Violence call, finding the suspect in a Pool Hall across from the Armory on N. High St.

   The suspect shot and killed Hake upon his arrival. His murderer was caught later that day, and was convicted and executed in June 1917.
