Summer Art Exhibit at Brukner Nature Center featuring artwork by Nora Steele – Runs through September 18th

• SUMMER ART EXHIBIT: We invite you to come and see our Summer Art Exhibit “The Magic of Spring” featuring the works of Nora Steele.  Living in the Hocking Hills region of Ohio, Nora is a Naturalist for Wahkeena Nature Preserve and uses her illustration and photography to educate about the natural world.  From the emergence of early spring flowers and amphibians to the return of warblers and other migrants, Ohio’s Spring season is always a whirlwind of activity.  Nora’s amazing art will be on sale in the through Sunday, September 18.   We will also have smaller 5”x7”, 8”x8”, and 11”x15” prints and note card sets for sale during June.  A percentage of sales will come back to BNC to will support our mission!

 

 

Stillwater Adventure River Float at Brukner Nature Center

• STILLWATER ADVENTURE:  Brukner Nature Center has a unique river float opportunity for kids entering grades 6th-12th.  Choose between Thursday, July 7 or Tuesday, July 26.  Each day the program will run from 9:30am – 1:00pm.  BNC has a variety of habitats and diverse wildlife in part because we’re next to the scenic Stillwater River.  Known for its slow moving, clean and clear water, the Stillwater River is home to many pollution-intolerant fish and macroinvertebrate species.  Join us as we explore while tubing the calm and cool waters from our main building to our pickup site downstream.  Along the way we'll use nets to catch critters, wear snorkeling masks to observe the underwater habitat and watch for mammals and birds along the shorelines!   Maximum of 8 kids each day.  Cost is just $30/child for BNC Members • $40/child for nonmembers (lunch provided).  Please email info@bruknernaturecenter.com or call Monday – Friday at 937-698-6493 to pre-register your child for any summer programs.  Wait for an email to confirm pre-registration and follow payment details that will be provided.  Withdrawal Policy:  Reimbursement of payment registration is not available for any program cancellation within two (2) weeks of the start of a program.  Cancellation occurring more than 2 weeks prior to the start of a program, will receive a 50% refund.

 

Summer Night Adventure at Brukner Nature Center – July 29th

Brukner Nature Center Participating in Blue Star Museums this Summer

• BLUE STAR MUSEUMS:  Each summer since 2010, Blue Star Museums have offered free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel and their families, including National Guard and Reserve, at museums across the United States.  Active-duty military just need to show their card to get free admission for themselves and their family.  The 2022 Blue Star Museums program began on Saturday, May 21, Armed Forces Day, and will end on Monday, September 5, Labor Day.  Brukner Nature Center is excited to be part of this awesome program!
